RV Camping at Nashville Shores Campground: Our Stay in Music City
There’s something special about pulling into Nashville knowing you’re about to combine RV life with the heart of country music. For Lauren’s birthday trip, we packed up the rig and headed from Texas to Tennessee, making Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort our home base for a few days of exploring.
First Impressions of Nashville Shores
Rolling into the campground, the first thing we noticed was the beautiful setting right on Percy Priest Lake. The campground has a mix of shaded sites, waterfront spots, and easy access to both the waterpark (open seasonally) and Nashville itself. After a long drive, it felt great to settle in, hook up, and take in the lake views.
Campsites & Amenities
Nashville Shores offers:
Full hookup RV sites (30/50 amp)
Pull-through and back-in options
Cabins if you’re traveling without an RV
A waterpark and zipline course (seasonal)
Laundry, bathhouses, and a camp store
We stayed in an RV site with a partial lake view, which made for some pretty relaxing evenings outside.
Why We Chose Nashville Shores
We wanted a spot close enough to downtown Nashville for exploring the music scene but still quiet enough to relax at the end of the day. From the campground, it’s about a 20-minute drive to downtown, which made visiting places like the Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry, and Broadway super convenient.
Exploring Nashville
Our days were a mix of campground downtime and full-blown Music City adventures. We hit up the iconic Ryman, wandered Broadway, and of course, celebrated Lauren’s birthday with some good food and live music. Nashville Shores made it easy to have both experiences—peaceful lakeside camping and all the excitement of downtown just a short drive away.
Tips for Staying at Nashville Shores
Book early if you want a lakefront site—those go fast, especially in summer.
Factor in Nashville traffic when heading downtown. Leave a little extra time.
Bring bikes or scooters if you want to cruise around the campground.
Check the waterpark schedule if that’s on your must-do list—it’s seasonal.
Final Thoughts
For us, Nashville Shores was the perfect balance between RV camping and city exploring. It gave us a quiet, scenic place to unwind after busy days in Nashville. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a longer stay, it’s a fantastic option for RVers who want the best of both worlds.
We’ll definitely be back—because any excuse to combine RV camping with country music is a win in our book.
